She batted .472, recorded 116 hits, scored 76 runs, had 78 RBIs, and blasted 10 home runs while also posting 51 wins during her high school career.
Katie played her freshman year of college softball at the University of Buffalo. Here she was named to the 2016 MAC All-Freshman Team, named the 2016 Buffalo Softball Rookie of the Year, and named MAC East Player of the Week (3/15). Katie set Buffalo’s single-season record with 49 RBIs and posted the second most home runs in a single season with 12. She led the team in home runs (12), RBIs (49), triples (four), total bases (109) and slugging percentage (.641). She transferred to the University of Tennessee where she spent her last three years playing collegiate softball. She succeeded in the classroom as well as on the field, earning SEC Spring Academic Honor Roll in 2017, 2018 & 2019. During her time at UT she helped her team make NCAA Super Regional appearances all three years as a hitter and a catcher. Being apart of one of the top-ranked softball programs in the country was a dream of hers since she was a little girl.
When Katie’s collegiate career came to an end with her graduation from UT in 2019 with a major in Kinesiology and a bachelor’s degree in Science in Education, her goal was to help other girls with the same dreams and aspirations further their softball careers and reach their fullest potential. She began her coaching career with the Gold Coast Hurricanes, a distinguished travel softball organization originating from the state of Florida. She coached a travel softball team through the organization, and gave private instruction addressing hitting, catching, fielding, and mental game tactics.
After concluding her education at Tennessee Wesleyan University with her master’s degree in Occupational Therapy in 2022, she continued her coaching career at BC Athletics in Knoxville, TN. The owner and founder of BCA, former MLB player Brett Carroll, trusted Katie in continuing the growth of the softball program within the organization by giving private instruction and beginning a travel softball team.
Come 2023, Katie moved back home to WNY aspiring to take her coaching skills to the collegiate level. She became an assistant coach at Canisius University for the 2023-2024 season.
